Notary journals for loan signing agents
A loan signing has one signer, one date — and fifty documents that need notarization. Your journal habits are what make that survivable.
How many entries does a loan signing need?
The safe rule: one entry per notarized document per signer. Some states allow a single entry listing multiple documents for the same signer in one session — check yours. Where allowed, list every document in the entry; where not, block out journal time as part of the appointment.
Fees belong in the journal
Signing services pay per signing, but your journal fee column is still your tax record. Record the full signing fee against the appointment and your travel separately — at year end the journal is your income ledger.
The journal is your defense file
Loan documents end up in disputes more than any other notarized paper. When a borrower claims "I never signed that," the notary journal entry — date, ID method, signature — is usually what closes the question.
Keep your journal on the phone already in your pocket. Signet numbers every entry automatically, captures signer signatures on screen, totals your fees for tax season, and exports the whole record as CSV when a court or your state asks. Adapted to your state's rules. Coming to the App Store.
