Common questions
The dose amounts don't match what's on my chemical's label
Frost uses standard industry dose tables. Label dosing varies by manufacturer concentration — always read the label and adjust if your product has a different active percentage than the default the app uses. You can switch your preferred product in Settings.
Can I use chlorine and hydrogen peroxide together?
No. Chlorine and peroxide chemically neutralize each other. If you switch sanitizers, drain and refill the tub before adding the new one. Frost will warn you when you change sanitizer in Settings.
My peroxide test strip reads low even though I just dosed
Cold water reads strips slowly. Wait the full 30 seconds before judging. If the reading is still low after a recheck, your peroxide may have been used up faster than expected — heavy bather load or a dirty filter can both contribute.
Should I trust this app for my exact plunge chemistry?
The app provides industry-standard dose calculations as a guide. It is not a substitute for professional water testing or your tub manufacturer's guidance. Always re-test after dosing and adjust gradually.
Does the app work offline?
Yes — Frost never connects to the internet. Everything runs locally on your device.
How do I delete my data?
Delete the app from your iPhone. All local data is removed along with it.
Safety reminder
Cold plunge chemicals are reactive. Never mix sanitizers — drain between chlorine and peroxide. Always store chemicals separately, and add chemicals to water (not water to chemicals). Wear eye protection when handling concentrated peroxide or acids. Wait until your sanitizer reading is in the target range before getting in.
